The Hook
The hook in this opening credits, is how the little cartoon characters actually link in with the film and what theyre doing links in with film also.

Set the Scene

This doesnt set the scene as it clearly shows but this reflects on the hook as it makes you want to knowwhat the film is going to be about.

Introduce Characters
The characters arent introduced properly in this opening credit but they are used by written conventions and showing us the man as a detective kind of man shows us there must be one that features in the film. 

Introduce the genre
The genre doesnt get shown to us very clearly but you can tell just from the music and how the cartoons act that it is a comedy but with detective that is in the opening credits it shows us it could be a bit of a mystery aswell.

Credits
The credits are shown in different light colours which fits in with the comedy genre. Some of the credits are moved on by the things that are going on with the characters e.g. when he has his lighton the writing it sets a light so it burns out and the next credit pops up, this makes it more fun and comedy- like.
